Why Natural

About two and a half years ago, Charlie received news that would change our lives forever. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease which is an incurable autoimmune disease. While there are many theories out there, no one really knows what actually causes this disease and treating the symptoms can be very difficult. Charlie has endured multiple surgeries and receives infusion treatments every other month to manage his symptoms along with weekly injections for over a year.

As you can imagine, our lives were upended with this diagnosis. Thanks to a fantastic medical team and our own independent research, we have grown a lot over the past couple of years in understanding how the environment and daily habits in our home either contribute to or weaken the wellness of our bodies. Because of Charlie’s disease, we have had to pay very close attention to all of the things we bring into our home. From cleaners to dog food, I check every single label to make sure that the ingredients will not worsen Charlie’s symptoms or cause an immune-system flare up.

Ditching harmful products and switching to those that are 100% natural and plant-derived is something we have made a top priority in our family. At first, this seemed like an insurmountable task. We tried for over a year to read labels and make better decisions, but it was painstakingly tedious.

Until we found the easy button.

In this class, you’ll learn how we have been able to cultivate a toxin-free home by simply purchasing a few staple products that we use every day. Thanks for being here and for being a special part of our family’s story, too.

Where are harmful chemicals found?

In 1976, Congress passed the Toxic Substance Control Act which grandfathered in between 63,000 – 100,000 chemicals that were on the market. These chemicals were grandfathered in without any testing and are simply unregulated.

Today, only about 50% of the chemicals on the market have been subject to any chemical testing at all. Under this act, manufacturers are protected by trade secret laws, so they do not have to post what ingredients are in their products. If you look at the ingredient list on a bottle of household cleaner, you may be surprised to see only a small percentage of the ingredients listed.

A quick perusing of your pantry would probably find you bug-eyed like me after checking the list below against the ingredients found in food items in your home.

How about your yard? From insect repellants to run-of-the-mill outdoor products, your family can easily become exposed to toxins via ingredients in common lawn care practices.

Did you know that the quality of air in our homes is typically 5 to 7 times more toxic than outdoor air quality? It only takes 26 seconds for chemicals in your personal products to enter your bloodstream. This is one reason alone that we should be paying closer attention to what is in those everyday products we use. From shampoo and conditioner to dish soap and all-purpose cleaner, what do you know about what is actually IN those bottles?

According to the CDC, more than 200 high-volume synthetic chemicals can be found in the bodies of nearly all Americans, including newborn infants.

How do these chemicals threaten our health?

+ They are easily absorbed into our bodies. We unknowingly breathe them in, ingest them via food and drink and absorb them into our skin through countless liquids and solids that we touch every day.
+ They are mass-produced. Billions of pounds of toxic chemicals are released each year.
+ There is too little testing and not enough studies on the potential damage these chemicals could be wreaking in our bodies.
+ The heavy use of pesticides in gardens, our homes and in schools is not regulated.
+ These chemicals have persisted – and continue to persist – in our environment for decades without being studied, checked or verified.

Shifting to natural cleaning products doesn’t mean you will be spending hours making laundry soap or creating dishwasher pods in muffin tins. Ain’t nobody got time for that! (Unless you do, and, well, more power to ya!)

I’m about to give you the easy button when it comes to ditching harmful household products and switching to products that you trust.

Thieves Cleaner

Thieves Cleaner is a versatile concentrate that can be used on many different surfaces including bathrooms, floors, counters, toys, clothes, mirrors, carpet and more. We have replaced every single cleaner in our home with this one bottle.

From granite and marble to hardwood floors, Thieves gets the job done on tricky surfaces, too. Simply spot-check a small area before you use Thieves Cleaner on a new surface.

Because Thieves Cleaner is a concentrate, it is meant to be diluted in various ways to replace all of your toxic household cleaners. From class to tub, sink and tile, Thieves has got you covered for far less than you are probably currently paying for cleaning products.

One 64-oz. bottle of Thieves Cleaner = 128 bottles (yep, you read that right) of all-purpose cleaner. That comes out to $.88 per bottle, y’all. Ain’t no way you’re finding a 100% natural cleaner at that price point anywhere.

This means that you can save time and money by buying ONE cleaning product to clean all the things. It has been a game-changer for our family.

You won’t have to make multiple trips to three different stores or order from multiple online sources. It’s going to replace all your household cleaners. You are going to fall.in.love.
