Tummy Support in a Bottle

I am all about some stretchy pants on holiday feasting days. What I am not about is the rumbly-tumbly tummy afterwards. This year, our family used several different oils and oil blends to support digestion and stomach discomfort. Whether you’re dealing with ongoing digestion problems or more of the I-made-some-poor-eating-choices variety, these are some good tools to have in your wellness toolbox for fighting the tummy troubles in a toxin-free, plant-based way.

Peppermint

This anti-inflammatory, cooling oil has many different uses. From energizing your mood to easing tension, peppermint oil is a staple in our home. This oil is also used for promoting healthy digestion. Simply massage 1-2 drops of the oil + 1 drop of carrier oil onto the abdomen.

Young Living also has a line of vitality oils that can be taken internally. Peppermint Vitality is used in our home on a daily basis. One drop on the tongue does the trick!

AromaEase

Screen Shot 2018-11-24 at 9.26.31 AMThis blend of peppermint, spearmint, cardamom and fennel produces a fresh, minty aroma. The antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties of cardamom and fennel ease cramping and ensure healthy functioning of the gastric juices in the stomach. AromaEase is our go-to when fighting nausea or a sour stomach feeling.

Like peppermint, massage 1-2 drops of the oil + 1 drop of carrier oil onto the abdomen. Or diffuse it into the air for inhalation.

Lavender

Stress can be the cause of many digestive problems. For this reason, I wanted to mention the Swiss army knife of oils, lavender. Known for its myriad uses, lavender promotes peace and calm and is an important oil to have on hand around the clock. Apply 1 drop directly to wrists during times of stress or before bedtime to promote deep sleep. lavender-blossom-1595581_1920
